Believe it or not, I don’t like mint and chocolate. Or, I thought I didn’t. It seems that I do. A lot. Weird. My guess is that I don’t like mint chocolate ice cream. Or maybe I don’t like fake mint. Who knows?! This, on the other hand, is pretty good.

This one tastes like dessert but it’s doing a lot behind the scenes. It’s cool, chocolatey, and full of good stuff – with no chocolate chips and no added sweeteners in sight. Think rich cacao, refreshing mint, and a creamy base with hints of caramel from the dates and figs.

Figs bring fibre, natural sweetness, and a surprising amount of calcium and iron. Cacao nibs add crunch and richness while delivering magnesium, iron and antioxidants. Mint isn’t just for flavour either – it’s known to help with digestion and can be surprisingly calming. Hemp seeds and avocado bring healthy fats and a protein boost, and the wheatgrass adds a dash of minerals and chlorophyll to round things off.

No nasties, no chips, and no regrets. Just a proper nutrient-packed, refreshing smoothie with a sweet chocolate-mint twist

I’ve not tested, but I’m pretty sure a scoop of vanilla protein powder would go well in this!

Ingredients

Method

Make the Mint Chocolate (no) Chip Smoothie

  1. Add everything to your blender and process until smooth.
  2. Depending on how you feel about cacao nibs, you could process everything else first, then add those and pulse a few times to make cacao-nib chips.
