We usually make this the day before or the morning of our food deliveries. It’s the perfect opportunity to clear out anything that’s been lounging in the fridge a bit too long, and a gentle nudge to make a fresh juice if it’s been a while.

The ingredients aren’t set in stone – but swapping a cucumber for a pepper, for instance, is probably best avoided. The aim is to focus on mainly greens, sweetened with a touch of fruit. Apples, pears, and pineapple all work brilliantly.

You can also use other leafy greens like bok choy, collard greens, or cabbage, as well as chunkier greens like broccoli. They all make great additions.

If your fridge-raiding efforts have unearthed things like carrots, beetroot, or oranges, they’d still make a decent Raid the Fridge Juice, but they’re not likely to harmonise well with greens. Stick to the green-and-fruit combo, and you’re onto a winner.

Method

Make the Raid the Fridge Green Juice

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Peel the limes and ginger (you can scrape the outside of the ginger off with a teaspoon).
  2. Wash everything: Give all your ingredients a good wash to remove any dirt or residue.
  3. Juice: Feed everything through your juicer and enjoy the vibrant green goodness!
  4. Serve over ice (I think this a necessity, but it’s a personal thing).
