This smoothie comes in under 500 calories, but it’s designed to work as a proper breakfast or main smoothie, rather than something light or fleeting. With just under 32 g of plant protein per serving, it provides a solid nutritional base to start the day and helps support fullness through the morning.

That protein is balanced with healthy fats from nuts and avocado, which slow digestion and help the smoothie stay in the stomach for longer. These fats also support the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and contribute to overall nutritional balance, while keeping saturated fat relatively low. Alongside this, the smoothie provides 10 g of fibre, which further supports satiety and digestive health.

Carbohydrate intake is moderate, coming from whole plant ingredients rather than refined sources, and the overall macro balance makes this a good option when you want something filling, nutrient-dense and steady in how it’s digested.

This smoothie is best served over ice.

Make the Creamy Strawberry Smoothie

  1. If you’re using fresh avocado, peel and add to your blender. You can peel, chop and freeze any leftover avocado for other smoothies.
  2. Add all of the other ingredients to your blender.
  3. Blend on high until completely smooth.
  4. If it’s thicker than you like, add a bit more water or milk and blend again.
  5. Serve straight away, over ice
